Harry is the Medieval English form of Henry.
Harry means Army Ruler.
James is the first name of Harry's father.
GENERAL INFORMATION
• Appearance: Messy jet black hair, and bright green eyes that are hidden behind thick black-framed glasses. His body is slim and lanky. There is also the ever so famous scar, shaped like a lightning bolt, located on his forehead.
• Relatives: Vernon Dursley, Petunia (Evans) Dursley, Dudley Dursley
• Wand: Eleven inches, holly and phoenix feather. (Both Harry's and Lord Voldemort's wands carry a phoenix feather from Fawkes.)
• Talents: Flying (Quidditch), Defence Against the Dark Arts, Parseltongue (until after defeating Voldemort), defeating Dark Lords.

QUICK BIOGRAPHY
Born on July 31, 1980, Harry Potter defeated the Dark Lord Voldemort when he was only a year old. Unfortunately, his parents did not survive the attack from Voldemort, and the orphaned Harry was sent to live with his muggle relatives. On his eleventh birthday, Harry was informed by Hagrid that he was in fact a wizard. Harry then began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991, where he was very nearly sorted into Slytherin, but chose Gryffindor instead. Harry also became a Seeker for Gryffindor's Quidditch team during his first year, and therefore became the youngest person to be on a Hogwarts Quidditch team in over a century. By the end of his first year, Harry had defeated Professor Quirrell and also prevented the return of Lord Voldemort.
In Harry's second year, it was discovered that he was a Parselmouth. Harry also discovered the location of the Chamber of Secrets within Hogwarts and saved Ginny Weasley from the teenaged memory version of Voldemort (Tom Riddle) and slew the basilisk within the chamber. In his third year, Harry was sought out by an escaped convict from Azkaban that turned out to be his Godfather, Sirius Black.
By his fourth year, Harry was forced to participate in the Triwizard Tournament due to a plot to once again bring back Lord Voldemort. Unfortunately, the plan worked and Voldemort returned. During his fifth year, Harry suffered from horrible nightmares and visions from Voldemort and was ordered to take Occlumency lessons from Severus Snape in order to block access to his mind, but Harry did terribly at the lessons. Voldemort lured Harry and a portion of Dumbledore's Army into a trap in the Department of Mysteries, where the prophecy involving both Harry and Voldemort was revealed. A large battle broke out within the Department of Mysteries, leading to the destruction of the prophecy and to the death of Sirius.
Once Harry's sixth year arrived, Harry was informed by Dumbledore about the existence of Voldemort's horcruxes, which would prevent him from completely dying. Harry was also sure that Draco Malfoy had been given a task by Lord Voldemort. Harry was unfortunatley not able to prevent the completion of Draco's task, and the headmaster was killed by Snape later in the year.
Both Hogwarts and the Ministry had later been taken over by Death Eaters, so Harry's seventh year was spent on the run and looking for the rest of Voldemort's horcruxes. With the help of his faithful friends, the horcruxes were destroyed, but Harry later discovered that he himself was a horcrux. When he was once again Avada Kedavra'd by Voldemort, Harry appeared in an afterlife of sorts where Dumbledore revealed that Harry was not actually dead, but the horcrux had now been destroyed. Harry awoke and, with some help from Narcissa Malfoy, led Voldemort to believe he was dead until the right moment. Voldemort led his Death Eaters and Harry back to Hogwarts, where Harry revealed himself to be alive and had his final showdown with Voldemort.
Harry is now married to Ginny Weasley, and they have three children: James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. He is also the Godfather to Teddy Lupin, the orphaned son of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks.
